Raceview stands as a model of what can be achieved when passion, vision and respect for local heritage come together.
The Mill was not just preserved, but transformed into something that combines respect for history with practical, modern use.
The project demonstrates how, (without grant aid) heritage can underpin economic and community regeneration, support local businesses, create jobs in a creative environment while giving people a tangible connection to their past.
HOWEVER it wasn’t an easy journey and the challenges were many.
Thanks to the dedication of local artist and photographer Roy McKeown, his family and friends, and those in local community who helped, the mill is now a shining example of what’s possible.
